CHRISTMAS IN AFGHANISTAN 2007
As of the end of August, our troops serving in Afghanistan have lost 25 comrades this year, and we Canadians have lost 25 young Canadians to hostile fire.
Though it seems so far away, we have to start thinking now about sending our Troops something for the Christmas season.
This time last year, the Spruce Grove Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion sent over 200 individual gifts. That way, each member of 1 Svc Battalion actually had something to unwrap on December 25th. We want to do the same thing this year.
Currently there are just over 100 personnel serving in Afghanistan, so making individual parcels should be a breeze this year. Please drop off donations to the branch at any time (monetary donation will be accepted).
I have tentatively set the wrapping of the parcels for 03 Nov, as they have to be at the base no later than 16 Nov.
Thank you for your continuing support. Your donations help to make life over seas, that much more bearable.
