February of 2007, Matthew McIsaac, Chad McIsaac, Kyle Lunn, and Shelby Cire, along with many other youth from Alberta, competed to earn a berth on the Alberta Youth Provincial team. This team is made up of the top 12 youth players in the province.  Matthew, Chad, Kyle and Shelby, who play for the Central Alberta Youth Dart League and play out of the Ponoka Royal Canadian Legion, were fortunate to have made the team. These 4 youth along with other players from various areas of Alberta went to LaChine, Quebec on May 17-21 to compete against the rest of the country for the Canada and Nodor Cups. Youth Nationals started in 1985 and Alberta had never won a gold medal. Well these kids decided to make dart history and not only did they win gold in the Silver Cup, but they also brought home silver in the Nodor Cup. These 4 youth players are still playing at the top of their game. Matthew is currently ranked number 1 for senior boys and is also on the adult ranking list. Chad is ranked number 2 for junior boys, Kyle is ranked number 3 for junior boys and Shelby is ranked number 3 for junior girls. This year provincials will be in Calgary on February 22-24 and the top 12 players will earn a berth on the team and will go to Winnipeg in May.
